Juventas’ work in the field of human rights affirms that attitudes are the main source of negative behavior directed against persons with a different sexual orientation and gender identity. This fact further highlighted the campaign’s message in 2011, “Love is an attitude” that gives a clear, non-judgmental and affirmative solution. Love should be the goal we aspire to achieve, the attitude recommended to everyone: love and let others love too.

This year’s anti-homophobia campaign began with a debate that took place on 14th May. It was organized by Juventas in cooperation with Ulrike Lunacek, a European Parliament member and Co-Chair of LGBT Intergroup. The campaign was also marked by the concert of the Croatian band “Lollobrigida” held on 16th May 2011, on the terrace of the KIC “Budo Tomović”, on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. As in previous years, LGBT people have taken an active part in designing and implementing the campaign. We consider all the activities that were part of it as a quality supplement to building a more tolerant environment in which LGBT people will be able to create their future freely and without fear.
