Juventas celebrated the Europe Day on 9th May. The central event was in Cetinje. Participants were welcomed by Alberto Cammarata, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation/Head of Policy, European Integration and Economy Section; Zlatko Vujovic, President of the Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI), as well as Marija Ružić, coordinator of the youth program in NGO Juventas.

After introductory remarks, the Deputy Mayor of the Capital of Cetinje Ms. Ana Nikolić, presented awards to the selected winners of the best essay competition on the theme “Enjoying European values for young people”.

The prize winner Branka Kovačević (1994), a high school student from “Tanasije Pejatović” from Pljevlja received a EUR 300 prize and a one-day tourist arrangement for two people from the travel agency “In Travel” from Podgorica.

The second prize was awarded to Andrija Boljević (1993), a student of the Secondary School of Economics “Mirko Vešović” from Podgorica. He was awarded EUR 200 and a language course of choice by the Foreign Language School “Double L” from Podgorica.

The third prize went to Dragana Djokic (1993), a high school student from “Vukadin Vukadinovic” from Berane. She was awarded EUR 100 and a set of books donated by the bookstore “Karver” from Podgorica.

The activity of the project “Enjoying European values for young people” also refers to the realization of public debates in 20 municipalities in Montenegro, which began with the first public round of debate last year on the Europe Day. This year we mark Europe Day as the final, fifth round of public debates. Over a year, about 100 public debates on the territory of Montenegro were realized.

On the occasion of the Europe Day, public debates were organized in all municipalities in Montenegro, and a central debate was held in Cetinje in the Parliamentary building, where the debates from the Secondary School of Economic from Bar and the Secondary Vocational School from Cetinje measured the strengths on the topic “Montenegro has good EU membership policy”. The debating team from Cetinje led by Professor Vesna Krivčević consisted of Milena Pravilović, Marija Mihaljević and Anđela Mudreša (affirmation), while the Debate Club from Bar, led by Professor Nedeljko Đurović, consisted of Zorica Bogunović, Amar Borančić and Stefan Jovanović (negation).

This year, the NGO Juventas will mark the 9th of May, the Europe Day in Cetinje in the Parliamentary building (address: Bajova 2) starting at 17:00.

The ceremony will consist of a public debate on the topic “Montenegro has good EU membership policy”, which will be run by high school students, the best Montenegrin debaters at the national level. In addition, there will also be awards for the best essays on the topic of European values ​​and European integration of Montenegro.

Prizes for authors of the best essays will be presented by the representative of the Capital of Cetinje.

This event is part of the project “Enjoying European values ​​for young people”, which is implemented by NGO Juventas in partnership with the Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) and NGO Bonum. The project is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro. The objectives of this project are to increase the contribution of civil sector working with young people in the process of the European integration of Montenegro, as well as the contribution to the promotion of the European integration process among young people in Montenegro.
