The training “Writing concrete practical policy proposals as decision-making tools” is part of the project “Enjoying European values for young people”, funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, and conducted by Juventas in cooperation with the Centre for Monitoring and Research (CeMI) from Podgorica and NGO Bonum from Pljevlja. The aim of this project is to increase the contribution of the civil sector working with young people in the process of European integration of Montenegro, as well as to contribute to the promotion of the European integration process among young people in Montenegro.

  

This training represents the second round of training for 30 representatives of student and youth organizations in Montenegro, with the aim of improving skills and knowledge in the field of public policy research. The training was focused on writing public policy studies. The above training is organized through a combination of lectures of ex-cathedra and interactive work, providing enough space for participants to discuss specific topics.

The final result of the training were four public policy studies which were written and later published on four different topics in the fields of education, employment, student rights and youth mobility. All studies will be presented at a national conference which will be held at the end of the project in April 2012.

The first training “Purpose of effective practical policy proposals as decision-making tools” was held from 25th to 27th September 2011 at Hotel Montenegro in Budva. Thirty representatives of student and youth organizations took part in the training. The representatives of the training were MAPSS, ELSA (European Law Students' Association on Faculty of Law), EESTEC (Electrical Engineering Students' European Association), Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, Student Parliament of the Mediteran University, Association Youth with Disabilities of Montenegro, NGO Youth for You, Office for Youth and Development of Bijelo Polje, Sports Association of Political Science Students, Leader, NGO Prima, Montenegrin Youth Forum, as well as representatives of Juventas and CeMI.

The above training was carried out within the project “Enjoying European values ​​for young people”, which is implemented by NGO Juventas in cooperation with the Centre for Monitoring and Research (CEMI) from Podgorica and NGO Bonum from Pljevlja, with the financial support of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro. The aim of the training was to improve the capacity of student and youth organizations. The training focuses on defining public policy practice, writing public policy proposals, and their role in social change. Through lectures by experts from the above mentioned fields and group and individual work, the participants of the training were trained to write proposals of public practical policies, whereby they defined problems that they consider crucial for the field of their activity. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to explore together the problem and its possible solutions in the three studies that will be the product of these trainings and as such will be presented to the public.
