One of the ongoing activities that we conduct is assisting in the realization of some rights pertaining to social and child protection, as well as assisting in registering at the Employment Agency of Montenegro. For this reason, in the second phase of the project we continued to connect the Roma with the following institutions: Center for Social Work and Employment Agency. The main objective of this project activity is to enable the realization of specific rights to the Roma population arising from the mentioned institutions, such as, for example, the right on material security of the family or the right to free health care. In order to apply for these rights, one must submit a number of documents. Assistance and mediation in obtaining the necessary documentation for the RE population from Konik I and Konik II camps are provided by Juventas social workers involved in this project.

The aim of the activity is to collect the necessary documentation in the shortest possible time, enabling the persons concerned to exercise their rights and thus provide the conditions for their families to exist, which would enable their full local integration.

A team of three social workers provides field-based social counseling to Roma at Konik camp three times a week. The counseling is organized in the offices of the Konik camp, where people come to interviews with social workers, while the next counseling’s are scheduled based on the need, either in the office or in clients’ houses, when they find it more appropriate. Also, social workers and a Roma assistant accompany clients to various institutions and provide them with all the necessary assistance in order to obtain the missing documents for the realization of their social rights.
